On August 9, 2019, Jushi Holdings Inc.’s partner company The Clinic™ held its 10th Annual Clinic Charity Classic at the Arrowhead Golf Course. The Charity Classic began as a grassroots event as an effort to both raise awareness and fundraise for those who live with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Proceeds that are raised from the golf event go on to benefit the National MS Society and Rocky Mountain MS Center.
This year, Jushi was honored to be a sponsor of this event. Members of Jushi’s team gathered together at the event to participate in a day of golf and charity. In addition to the nine-hole tournament at The Classic, there was a putting challenge, live music and comedy, live and silent auctions, and a wonderful after-party that all happened to benefit a great cause. The Clinic™ is happy to report that this event raised $85,000 which is excellent news for the organizations this money is going toward. We at Jushi were thrilled to be a part of this.
While all of these fun-filled events were going on, our very own Patrick Libonate, Vice President of Marketing, gave us some of his time to provide a deeper look into The Classic Event and how cannabis and Multiple Sclerosis intersect. While more research is needed, the National MS Society actually advocates for legalization of medical cannabis on the state level and “supports the rights of people with MS to work with their health care provider to access cannabis for medical purposes in accordance with legal regulations in those states where such use has been approved.” This position was inspired by a panel led by medical experts who worked to analyze comprehensive research studies about cannabis use among patients with MS.
Furthermore, Patrick delved into Jushi’s most recent acquisitions, including those in Nevada and Pennsylvania. He then discussed where Jushi is setting their sights in terms of the global market, and he discusses what sets Jushi apart. Patrick was inspired to be at the event, as were all of us. “Any amount that is raised or awareness that goes to the MS Society or to Rocky Mountain MS Center, we think that it’s great to be part of such a good cause,” he said of the event.
